Positive degree :-
જયારે બે વ્યક્તિઓની સરખામણીમાં બંને સરખા હોય ત્યારે positive degreeનો ઉપયોગ થાય છે.
Ex:-
1. वह चॉकलेट की तरह प्यारी है।
તેણી ચોકલેટ જેવી જ મીઠી છે.
She is as sweet as chocolate.
2. राम राहुल की तरह मोटा है।
રામ રાહુલ જેટલો જ ચરબી વાળો છે.

Comparative degree :-
જયારે બે વ્યક્તિઓની સરખામણીમાં એકને બીજા કરતા વધારે બતાવવામાં આવે ત્યારે comparative degreeનો ઉપયોગ થાય છે.
મોટા ભાગે positive ને comparative માં બદલવા માટે વિશેષણને અંતે er than લગાવવામાં આવે છે.
Ex:-
1. राम राधा से लम्बा है।
રામ રાધા કરતા ઊંચો છે.
Ram is taller than Radha.
2. सीता श्वेता से छोटी हैं।
સીતા સ્વેતા કરતા નાની છે.
Sita is smaller than sweta.
3. वह मुझसे बड़ा है।
તે મારા કરતા મોટો છે.
He is older than me.
4. मेरी माँ मेरे पिताजी से ज्यादा मजबूत है।
મારા મમ્મી મારા પપ્પા કરતા વધારે મજબૂત છે.
My mom is stronger than my dad.
5. मैं अपनी बहन से ज्यादा स्वस्थ हूं।
હું મારી બહેન કરતા સ્વસ્થ છું.
I am healthier than my sister.
6. शेर कछुए से भी तेज होता है।
સિંહ કાચબા કરતાં ઝડપી છે.
The lion is faster than the tortoise.
7. लाल सेब हरे सेब की तुलना में अधिक पका हुआ है।
લાલ સફરજન લીલા સફરજન કરતા પાકેલું છે.

સાયકલ કાર કરતા સસ્તી છે.

9. नील नदी गंगा नदी से भी लंबी है।
નાઇલ નદી ગંગા નદી કરતા લાંબી છે.

જે વિશેષણમાં બે કરતા વધારે સ્વર (a, e, i, o, u) હોય તેમાં more than વપરાય છે.

2. लेक व्यू गार्डन की तुलना में गोवा बीच अधिक सुखद है।
ગોવા બીચ lake view બગીચા કરતા વધુ સુખદ છે.

3. लोहा किसी भी अन्य धातु की तुलना में अधिक उपयोगी है।
અન્ય કોઈપણ ધાતુ કરતા આયર્ન વધુ ઉપયોગી છે.

4. उसका पति मेरे पति से ज्यादा प्यारा है।
તેણીના પતિ મારા પતિ કરતા વધારે પ્રેમાળ છે.

5. क्रिकेट हॉकी से ज्यादा लोकप्रिय है।

Superlative degree :-
જયારે કોઈ વ્યક્તિને સર્વશ્રેષ્ઠ બતાવવામાં આવે ત્યારે superlative degree વપરાય છે.
મોટા ભાગે positive ને comparative માં બદલવા માટે વિશેષણને અંતે est લગાવવામાં આવે છે.

1. राम हमारे ग्रुप में सबसे तेज दौड़ता है।
અમારા જૂથમાં રામ સૌથી ઝડપથી દોડે છે.
